VALUES
Montana Should be Affordable
Helena is changing, but we all want a lot of the same things: affordable housing, health care, childcare, and a safe, stable place to live and raise our families.

Laura will advocate for housing, health, and childcare policies that help make Montana affordable for working families. Laura will advocate for well-funded public schools, their hardworking employees, and services that support families in crisis.

As a state leader and federal prosecutor, Laura spearheaded major initiatives to support kids and their families in Montana, including innovative health care collaborations serving young families, improving access to quality childcare and maternal health services, and building multidisciplinary teams to serve victims of sexual assault in a trauma-informed way. She received national recognition for her work helping businesses and families gain access to pandemic recovery funds and health services.
Government Accountability
After working in public service for more than a decade, Laura knows there are thousands of dedicated public servants across Montana. Regardless of which party is in power, we as citizens should expect transparency and accountability when it comes to our government leaders and decision makers. As the Vice Chair of Montana's Audit Committee, Laura leads audit and investigative efforts to ensure that taxpayer money is being utilized effectively and efficiently in government programs.
Access to the Great Outdoors
We all have our reasons we love Montana, and enjoying the incredible outdoors is a big one for a lot of us — whether hunting, fishing, hiking, biking or camping. Being outside is our way of life in Montana and preserving access to public lands and streams is a cause worth fighting for.
Laura believes in the protection of public lands, stream access, and good stewardship of our state resources through wildlife conservation.
Keeping our Neighborhoods Safe
As a federal prosecutor, Laura trained community partners on fighting crime in our communities. She was an early champion of community response initiatives and worked closely with Fort Peck to establish its first Sexual Assault Response Team, supporting victims holistically through mental health services, victim support, and trauma-informed investigations and prosecutions. Examining and improving all parts of the criminal justice system are critical to the fair administration of justice as we work to keep our communities safe.
